Equip Africa Institute (EAI) is a premier middle-level institution accredited, licensed, and registered as a Technical and Vocational training college in accordance with the TVET Act 2013 and in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education. The Institute is an affiliate of Mount Kenya University and has Seven (7) centers: Thika, Nairobi, Kitale, Kisii, Nakuru, Mombasa, and Malindi, offering quality competence-based training at Diploma, Certificate and Artisan Levels. The Institute also has Driving school, Executive Training, and Consultancy arms.

In order to promote competence, innovation and excellence, the Institute seeks to employ qualified and competent full-time German Language Trainers.

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any field and Goethe Certification at B2

Relevant experience: 2 years in teaching German Language

Job Field: Education / Teaching

Reporting to: Center Manager

Stations: Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Planning curriculum and identifying source material and resources for training.
  2. Creating opportunities for the trainers to practice reading, speaking, listening, and writing.
  3. Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
  4. Use computers, audiovisual aids and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
  5. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs of the trainees.
  6. Facilitate a good learning experience by establishing a relationship with the trainees.
  7. Establishing and enforcing rules for class management and student behavior.
  8. Scheduling, preparing, administering and grading oral and written tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
  9. Monitoring and maintaining training records, e.g. trainee lists, schedules, and attendance sheets.
  10. Monitor and evaluate the training programs’ effectiveness and facilitate course completion.
  11. Participation in departmental meetings
  12. Other duties as may be assigned to you by your supervisor


  • Fluency in both English and German
  • Ability to use technology in delivering the content
  • Time management skills and attention to detail;
  • Knowledgeable of teaching methodologies that can improve pronunciation, comprehension, and reading skills
  • Strong communication skills;
