Faculty of Social SciencesThe Diploma in Social Work & Community Development course is designed to equip individuals with the competencies required to practice as a Social Worker. It reflects the employers’ demand for qualified personnel, that would enable them to compete in an environment where the technology is constantly evolving, and the expectations of what a social worker can do are becoming ever more demanding and dynamic in nature.
Entry Requirements
a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) with a minimum mean grade of C- (minus)
Or
b) Certificate in Social Work with one year of continuous work experience
Or
c) Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)
Assessment
The course will be assessed at two levels: internally and externally. Internal assessment is continuous and is conducted by the trainer who is monitored by an internal accredited verifier while external assessment is the responsibility of TVET CDACC.
Certification
On successful completion of all units of learning, a trainee will be awarded a Diploma in Social Work & Community Development issued by TVET CDACC in conjunction with Equip Africa Institute.
