Faculty of Computing & InformaticsThis Diploma in Library & Information Science course is designed to equip a Library and information science technician with the competencies required to perform publishing and book trade, cataloging, management of industry knowledge, search of library and information database, analysis of information resources, copyright compliance and license requirement management, conservation and preservation of information materials, library and information management system, records and information management aligned on this program.
Entry Requirements
a) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) with a minimum mean grade of C- (minus)
Or
b) Level 5 certificate in a related course with one year of continuous work experience
Or
c) Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA)
Assessment
The course will be assessed at two levels: internally and externally. Internal assessment is continuous and is conducted by the trainer who is monitored by an internal accredited verifier while external assessment is the responsibility of TVET CDACC.
Certification
On successful completion of all units of learning, a trainee will be awarded a Diploma in Library & Information Science issued by TVET CDACC in conjunction with Equip Africa Institute.
